About Us

Sabahat Anis

The Founder of Saba Art Gallery

In the past, I have pondered about work I can do to which will both be enjoyable for me and beneficial to society. I quickly realized that in my case, the visual arts were the best way to present new ideas and start conversations on critical topics. I have always created pieces with the aim to bring emotions and feeling to others. As I matured in my style of art, my passion and skill set grew stronger. I then founded the Saba Art Gallery in 2018.

The Saba Art Gallery focuses on bringing awareness to overlooked topics affecting the world today. In the past, we have held exhibitions on child labour at Ryerson University, Diversity and calligraphy that was displayed at the Royal Parliament at Queen’s Park as well as climate change, women empowerment and many more art showcases held in various indoor and outdoor communities. The aim for Saba Art Gallery is to provide a stable platform for current and emerging artists to explore and respond to a common theme. Together we educate and promote advocacy on social issues worldwide through informative art exhibitions. We believe that the visual arts are a powerful tool for reflection as it can transcend language barriers by communicating complex emotions through imagery, colour, form and symbolism.
